PREVENIR LAS REACCIONES DURANTE LAS EXTENSIONES DE PESTAÑAS

Como estilista de pestañas profesional, es probable que sus clientas acudan a usted para pedirle consejo sobre las extensiones de pestañas. Especialmente si piensan que han experimentado una reacción después de su tratamiento. Aunque es importante que nunca dé consejos médicos a sus clientes, vale la pena conocer las causas de la irritación y saber a qué atenerse.

Las alergias a las pestañas son acumulativas (se acumulan con el tiempo), lo que significa que un día tu clienta está bien y luego, en su séptimo tratamiento, de repente le ha aparecido una reacción alérgica. Por eso es tan importante la educación sobre las reacciones y las irritaciones. A veces la gente se precipita un poco y afirma que se trata de una reacción alérgica, aunque a menudo puede ser otra cosa...

En el blog de hoy hablaremos más sobre las posibles razones de las reacciones/irritaciones durante un tratamiento de pestañas y algunas formas de reducir la irritación.

RAZONES DE LA IRRITACIÓN

Si su clienta dice haber tenido una reacción a las extensiones de pestañas, es posible que tenga enrojecimiento, picor u ojos irritados. Sin embargo, puede que no se trate necesariamente de una reacción alérgica. He aquí algunas razones para el enrojecimiento/picazón:

Quemadura química de la almohadilla ocular (movimiento de la almohadilla durante el tratamiento).
Irritación por los vapores del adhesivo (si los ojos estaban abiertos durante el tratamiento).
Post-tratamiento del cliente (si el cliente se ha depilado/restregado las pestañas).
Temporada de alergias (fiebre del heno)

VAPORES DE PEGAMENTO

Los vapores del adhesivo pueden ser una de las principales causas de irritación durante las extensiones de pestañas. La irritación de los vapores puede ocurrir a veces después de un tratamiento de pestañas, haciendo que el cliente piense que está experimentando una reacción al pegamento, ¡pero podría ser la exposición a los vapores lo que está causando esto!

QUEMADURAS QUÍMICAS

Si su cliente siente enrojecimiento debajo del ojo (en el área donde se colocó la almohadilla), es probable que las almohadillas se hayan deslizado y frotado contra los ojos durante el tratamiento. Las quemaduras químicas suelen ser rojas y dolorosas, por lo que pueden confundirse con una "reacción alérgica". La mejor forma de evitarlo es colocar las almohadillas correctamente. Es importante que todas las pestañas inferiores queden cubiertas durante el tratamiento. Asegúrese de que la almohadilla esté de 0,5 a 1 mm de la línea de agua y que no bloquee las glándulas ni toque el ojo cuando éste esté cerrado. Si es necesario, puede fijar la almohadilla con cinta microporosa.

CUIDADOS POSTERIORES EN EL CLIENTE

Un buen cuidado posterior es esencial para mantener unas pestañas sanas. Sin embargo, no siempre se puede controlar la forma en que la clienta cuida sus pestañas una vez que abandona el salón de pestañas. Si su clienta se ha arrancado, frotado o tirado de las extensiones de pestañas, esto puede provocar enrojecimiento o irritación de los ojos. Asegúrese de que sus clientas conozcan las instrucciones de postratamiento adecuadas y laven sus pestañas a diario. Siempre puedes dar a tus clientas un paquete de cuidados posteriores cuando salgan del tratamiento.

FIEBRE DEL HENO

La fiebre del heno se manifiesta con enrojecimiento, picor y lagrimeo de los ojos. Durante la temporada de la fiebre del heno, el polen y los alérgenos se depositan en las pestañas y agravan los síntomas existentes. Esto hace que el cliente sea más susceptible a reacciones y posible sensibilidad a las extensiones de pestañas/productos. Si tiene una clienta que padece fiebre del heno, debe informarle de ello para que pueda tomar una decisión informada sobre la conveniencia de someterse al tratamiento. Si su clienta desea seguir adelante con las extensiones de pestañas, debe aconsejarle que no tire de las extensiones ni las frote, ya que podría dañar las pestañas naturales.

CÓMO REDUCIR LA IRRITACIÓN

A continuación encontrará algunos consejos útiles para minimizar las reacciones y la irritación durante y después de la aplicación de las extensiones de pestañas:

Realice las extensiones de pestañas en una habitación bien ventilada y utilice un ventilador para alejar los vapores de los ojos.
Renuncie a la imprimación y limpie previamente las pestañas con un limpiador.
Para evitar quemaduras químicas, utiliza cinta adhesiva en lugar de almohadillas para los ojos.
Neutraliza el punto de pegamento.
Conciencie a sus clientas de la importancia de los cuidados posteriores.

Recuerda: si tu clienta es alérgica al cianoacrilato, no podrá ponerse extensiones de pestañas.

Es importante que te informes y sepas qué hacer si tu clienta desarrolla una alergia o irritación. Recuerde que usted no es un profesional médico y por lo tanto no puede dar consejos médicos a sus clientes. Todas las reacciones deben ser diagnosticadas por un médico, porque si sus clientes tienen una alergia al pegamento de las extensiones de pestañas, ya no pueden recibir extensiones de pestañas.

Siempre puede ofrecer un lifting de pestañas como alternativa.

As a professional eyelash stylist, chances are your clients will come to you for advice on eyelash extensions. Especially if they think they experienced a reaction after your treatment. While it's important never to give your clients medical advice, it's worth educating yourself about the causes of irritation and what to look out for.

Eyelash allergies are cumulative (they build up over time); H. one day your client is fine, and then, on her 7th treatment, she suddenly had an allergic reaction. In today's blog we will talk more about possible reasons for reaction/irritation during an eyelash treatment and some ways to reduce irritation.

REASONS FOR IRRITATION

If your client claims to have had a reaction to eyelash extensions, it's possible that her eyes are red, itchy, or irritated. However, it does not necessarily have to be an allergic reaction. Here are some reasons for redness/itching:

Eye pad burn (pad movement during treatment)
Irritation from adhesive fumes (if eyes were open during treatment)
Client follow-up (if client has plucked/rubbed their eyelashes)
Allergy Season (Hay Fever)

GLUE FUMES

Glue fumes can be a major cause of eyelash extension irritation. Irritation from fumes can sometimes occur after an eyelash treatment so the client thinks she is experiencing a reaction to the glue, but it could be exposure to fumes that is causing this!

CHEMICAL BURNS

If your client experiences redness under the eye (in the area where the eye pad was placed), it is likely that the pads have slipped and been rubbed on the eyes during the treatment. Chemical burns are usually red and painful, so they can be mistaken for an "allergic reaction." The best way to prevent this is with proper pad placement. It is important that all lower lashes are covered during treatment. Make sure the pad is 0.5 to 1mm from the waterline and not blocking the glands or touching the eye with the eye closed. You can then attach the pad with a microporous tape if necessary.

AFTERCARE AT THE CUSTOMER

Good aftercare is essential to maintaining healthy lashes. However, you can't always control how your client cares for her lashes once she leaves the lash room. If your client has been picking, rubbing, or pulling on her eyelash extensions, her eyes may become red/irritated. Make sure your clients know proper aftercare instructions and wash their lashes daily. You can always give your clients an aftercare package when they leave the treatment!

HAY FEVER

Hay fever is characterized by red, itchy and watery eyes. During the hay fever season, pollen and allergens settle on the eyelashes and aggravate the existing symptoms. This makes the customer more susceptible to reactions and possible sensitivity to eyelash extensions/eyelash products. If you have a client who is suffering from hay fever, you need to let her know so she can make an informed decision about having the treatment. If your client wants to proceed with the lash extensions, you need to advise her not to pull or rub the lash extensions as this could damage the natural lashes.

HOW TO REDUCE IRRITATION

Here are some helpful tips to help minimize reaction and irritation during and after eyelash extensions:

Perform eyelash extensions in a well-ventilated room and use a fan to draw fumes away from the eyes.
Skip the primer and pre-clean the lashes with Cleanser instead.
To avoid chemical burns, use masking tape instead of eye pads!
Neutralize the glue point.
Make your customers aware of the importance of aftercare.

Remember: if your client has an allergy to cyanoacrylate, she cannot get eyelash extensions.

It's important to educate yourself and know what to do if your client experiences an allergy or irritation. Remember that you are not a medical professional and therefore cannot give medical advice to your customers. All reactions must be diagnosed by a doctor because if your clients have an allergy to eyelash extension glue, they will no longer be able to get eyelash extensions.
